- Memorial Day Weekend is usually the kickoff to "barbecue season" here in the Northwest, so we've selected a nice assortment of wines to accompany your grilled selection this holiday weekend. Several of the wines are under $10/bottle, and we'll also be tasting the recent Stevens 424 red club pick for that special choice cut on the grill! Tasting will begin Saturday, May 23rd through Monday, May 25th - 1 - 6 p.m. each day - complimentary for club members!!!
We welcome Joe Forest of Tempus Cellars, a smaller boutique winery in Walla Walla producing balanced, exceptional wines at their winery facility. Passionate and hard-working, Joe's wines have a real sense of place, while being rich and generous, but finishing with a refreshing quality. They are food friendly, versatile wines with nice cellaring capacity. Come meet Joe, hear his story of relocating to Walla Walla to pursue a dream, and have a glass on the wine deck!
Merry Cellars is relatively unknown outside of the Palouse, but those "in the know" realize the quality and finesses these wines possess. Located in Pullman, Merry is most known for their "Crimson" label, which features a vintage photo of the old Washington State College Cougars. These are very good wines with grapes sourced from top vineyards, so come on out and get Merry!

Owner/winemaker John Bookwalter and family have produced exceptional wines for several decades, and they are one of the oldest family owned and operated wineries in Washington State. The July cruise will feature the owner/winemakers from Five Star Cellars, Walla Walla Vintners & Barrister Winery on Saturday, July 25th. This is a fully catered dinner cruise with appetizers and dessert included. The voyage will take us northbound to the mystical Mermaid Rocks and the Cone Islands, venturing on to Toehead Pass and Obstruction Pass off of Orcas Island, continuing onward to Thatcher Pass, Lopez Spit, Decatur Island and Lopez Pass, and the Marine Sanctuary off of Bird Rocks - then homeward bound. This is a fantastic scenic cruise abundant with eagles, seals, and spectacular scenery. A chartered bus will pick you up at Hellams Vineyard in La Conner at 5 p.m.(please check in to the shop no later than 4:15 p.m.) We'll then head over to the Mystic Sea, a 100' boat based out of Anacortes at Cap Sante Marina, board and depart at 6 p.m. The boat will return to dock at 9 p.m., and you'll then be chartered back to La Conner. All three winemakers will be pouring at the shop from 1 - 4 p.m. Cost is $150 per person; $140 for club members (+ tax). RSVP is required by calling the shop at 360.466.1758. There is a 10-day, non-refundable cancellation policy in effect for this trip.
